bustles of Kovalam towards South in a village called
Pullinkudi is located Maharaju Ayurvedic Health Resort with
Bungalow Hotels and AYURVEDIC Spa. It is sufficiently isolated
from the bustles of the beach crowd so as to ensure a tranquil
and calm aura anytime of the year.
About the property: The Bungalows at Maharaju Ayurvedic
Health Resort is designed to the traditional Kerala style of
architecture, interior spacious and air-conditioned by nature
to make your stay comfortable. This resort has a total of 11
cottages as follows:

We
recommend the use of Maharaju Suite and Garden houses as these
are within the property. The Kerala style wooden houses are
situated about 200 meters from the main resort area and is a
10 minutes walk. The restaurant is also situated within the
main property. The main physician, Mr. Maharaju, comes from a
family who has been practicing traditional ayurveda for
generations. His team of masseurs is very well trained. Nearly
all the ayurvedic herbs required for the treatments are grown
within the property. The management wants this property to be
used by the clients who will undergo the ayurvedic treatment.
They do not want clients who will use the property only for
the stay.

3. KARNAPOORNAM One time USD 7
In this process, medicated fumes are applied to the ears for
five to ten minutes. This process helps to clean the ear and
avoid ailments associated with the ear.
4. MEDICATED STEAM BATH One time USD 7
Certain precious herbal leaves and herbs are boiled and the
steam is passed to the whole body for 10-20 minutes. This is
good for certain ski diseases to eliminate impurities from the
body to reduce fat etc.
5. YOGA AND MEDITATION One time USD 7
Yoga is offered, individually or in small groups.

AYURVEDIC TREATMENTS
1. Pizhichil - (3 to 9 days) 1st day USD 50 + 2nd day

In this treatment, lukewarm herbal oils are applied all over
the body by two to four trained technicians in a special
Rhythmic way continuously for about 60 to 90 minutes per day
for period of 7 to 21 days. This treatment is very useful for
Rheumatic diseases like arthritis, paralysis, paralysis -
agitanus, sexual weakness, nervous weakness and disorders etc.
2. Nasyam - (1 time USD 6) (7 days USD 40) (14 days USD

Herbal juices, medicated oil etc. Are applied through nose for
7 to 14 days. This treatment is highly effective for certain
kind of headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, some type of
skin diseases etc.
3. Shehapanam - ( 1 time USD 10)
Medicated ghee is given internally in proportionally increased
quantity for a period of 8 to 12 days. This treatment is for
osteo - arthritis, skin diseases, bone and joints etc.
4. Tgharpanam - ( 1 time USD 6)
It is a cleaning process of the eyes which gives a cooling
effect, thereby strengthening the optic nerve and preventing
cataracts.
5. Njavarakizhi - (1 time USD 31) (7 days USD 215) (14

It is a process in which the whole body or any specific part
is made to perspire by the application of certain medical
pudding externally in the form of boluses tied up in muslin
bag. This is done by two to four technicians for about 60 to
90 minutes per day for a period of 14 days. This treatment is
very effective for all types of Rheumatism, joint pains,
emaciation of limbs, blood pressure, cholesterol and certain
kind of skin diseases.

In this process, some herbal oils, medicated milk, medicated
buttermilk etc., are poured on the forehead in a special
method for about 45 minutes a day for a period of 7 two 21
days. This treatment is mainly for insomnia, Vata predominant
diseases, mental tension, sleeplessness and certain skin
diseases.
7. Kizhi - ( 1 time USD 6)
Herbal leaves, herbs or herbal powders are applied to the
whole body in blouses with hot medicated oils for 45 minutes
per day for a period of 7 to 14 days. This treatment is
effective for all types of arthritis, spondilosis, sports
injuries, problems in the bones and joints etc.
8. Sirovasthi - (1 time USD 21) (2nd day USD 18) (3rd

Three days in one course Specially prepared herbal oils etc.
are applied poured into a cap fitted on the head for 15 to 60
minutes per day according to the patient's condition for a
period of 7 days. This treatment is highly effective for
facial paralysis, dryness of mouth, nostrils and throat,
severe headaches, burning sensation of the head and other vata-oriented
diseases.
9. Vasthi -

Certain herbal oils, herbal extracts, etc. are applied through
the rectum daily for a period 5- 25 days. This treatment is
for arthritis, paralysis, hemiplegia, numbness, gastric
complaints associated with Rheumatism and constant
constipation.
