Morning tour of the Mehrangarh Fortress in Jodhpur. A serpentine
street leads you to the fortress. Within its walls lies a museum.

journey to the desert camp. (Bhikodai). There the friendly
inhabitants of the desert will receive us. We will dine together
with music and dance by the bonfire. |

For
the next few days, we will travel further into the Thar Desert on
comfortably saddled camels. There is the option, however, of
staying in the camp and riding out daily as it pleases you. In any
case, you can become acquainted with the unspoiled daily life of
the desert people. The distance, the light, the sunrises and
sunsets in the desert create an atmosphere you won't be inclined
to forget. You will enjoy the traditional music of the camel
drivers, played on a variety of instruments. We will sleep under
the stars (warm sleeping bag recommended). |
