Camel Safari

After breakfast, Three hours of sightseeing in Delhi. Evening departure on the night train (1st class) to Jodhpur.

Morning tour of the Mehrangarh Fortress in Jodhpur. A serpentine street leads you to the fortress. Within its walls lies a museum. After lunch we will leave Jodhpur and begin the interesting journey to the desert camp. (Bhikodai). There the friendly inhabitants of the desert will receive us. We will dine together with music and dance by the bonfire.

For the next few days, we will travel further into the Thar Desert on comfortably saddled camels. There is the option, however, of staying in the camp and riding out daily as it pleases you. In any case, you can become acquainted with the unspoiled daily life of the desert people. The distance, the light, the sunrises and sunsets in the desert create an atmosphere you won't be inclined to forget. You will enjoy the traditional music of the camel drivers, played on a variety of instruments. We will sleep under the stars (warm sleeping bag recommended).

We start towards Jaisalmer where we will spend two days. Here you will have two pleasant, relaxing days to wander alone, or if you like, with an authorized guide through this fantastic city.

On the way to Jodhpur we will go through several villages. Arrival late in the evening. Lodging in the Jhalamad Castle Hotel (or comparable hotel).

After breakfast we will travel to a remote village (Osian), where we will visit several temples. Late in the evening, we will leave Jodhpur in the train (1st class).

Morning arrival in Delhi, a city of many faces. We will pay a visit to the Red Fortress, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid and Humayun's Tomb (considered to be the fore runner of the Taj Mahal).

We bid you farewell at the airport.
