Day 1 Arrive Delhi
Assistance on arrival and transfer to your Hotel. Full day
sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi takes you to the 12th Century
Qutab Minar, gracefully fluted and hand carved for its entire
height of 234 feet; nearby stands the Iron Pillar which has
withstood the ravages of time and not rusted in 1500 years. Visit
the graceful mausoleum of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and modern
Birla Temple. Drive past India Gate (War Memorial), President’s
House that was once the Viceroy’s Palace, Parliament House and
Secretariat architecture. Drive past the memorial of Mahatma
Gandhi to India’s largest mosque, the Jama Masjid, built by the
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th Century. Nearby is Chandni
Chowk, once an imperial avenue down which Shah Jahan rode at the
head of lavish cavalcades and jams composed of every type of
vehicle imaginable. Then view the massive walls and ramparts of
the magnificent Red Fort, symbol of Mughal Power & Elegance, built
in 1648.
Day 2 To Chandigarh
Drive
to Chandigarh and check-in at hotel. Afternoon city tour. There
are not many sites of historical importance in Chandigarh as this
is one of the most modern cities in the country. A most important
site in the city is the Rock Garden, the place that has
been captured by millions of cameras. Rose Garden is
another important landmark and a part of Leisure Valley, a garland
of gardens that ornaments the city.
Day 3 To Shimla
Today
drive out to Shimla, the state capital of Himachal Pradesh,
situated in the north-west Himalayas.
This pleasant sprawling town set among the pine-clad hills
presents the visitor with glimpses of fading colonial charm. The
buildings, the Mall, the picnic spots tell you the story of the
era when it was the summer capital of the British India. A visit
to the Mall brings you to the centre of activity in the city. Move
around the city and you get to see some of the fascinating sights
of the landscape around.
Day 4 In Shimla
Full
day free to explore the city surroundings in your Chauffeur driven
vehicle.
Day 5 To Manali
Morning drive to Manali and on arrival check-in at hotel.
Day 6 In Manali
Full day free to explore the city surroundings in your Chauffeur
driven vehicle.
Day 7 To Dharamshala
Morning drive to Dharamsala, the home of the Dalai Lama. Set
against the backdrop of the dramatic Dhauladhar mountains,
DHARAMSALA is perched on the high slopes in the upper reaches of
Kangra Valley. It is a charming town with elegant bungalows
nestling in thick conifer forests. The valley is famous for tea
gardens, which cover vast expanse, especially around Palampur.
Day 8 In Dharamshala
Tour
the Himalayan town for its various monasteries and Mcleodganj
often called Little Lhasa and the residence of the Dalai Lama,
which has been here for over three decades. The monastery has
larger-than-life images of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and
Avalokteshwara. Also visit St. John’s, the charming dressed stone
church in the wilderness.
Day 9 To Delhousie
Morning drive to Dalhousie and on arrival check-in at hotel.
Day 10 In Delhousie
Full day free to explore the city surroundings in your Chauffeur
driven vehicle.
Day 11 To Delhi
In time transfer to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, the tour ends.
