Day 1 – Arrive Bagdogra
Airport or New Jalpaiguri Station for your onward journey to
DARJEELING : It situated at an altitude 7000 ft. It is a hill
station well known all over the world as the “Queen of Hill
Stations”. It is a tourists paradise. The beauty of the majestic
Kanchenjunga range looming above is always there to enjoy Arrive
Darjeeling and check into the Hotel ( Enjoy the dinner on your own
with our speciality Gujarati Thali )
Day 2 – Discover Local Darjeeling.
This tour covers Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park which
exhibits some rare collection of Himalayan Fauna, including the
Snow Leopard. From here, move towards Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute, the premier School of Mountaineering in the world. The
museum of the Institute portays a range of historical
mountaineering equipment and specimen of Himalayan Flora & Fauna.
At North Point, about 03 kms from the town, view the Ropeway that
drops steeply in the Ranjeet Valley to Singla Bazaar at 900 ft.
Floating high above the rush green valley carpeted with tea
gardens, the cable car takes 45 mins to reach Singla. It is first
passenger ropeway system & perhaps still the longest in Asia. From
here, we drive down to the Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center, estd.
on 1st October ’59, to rehabilitate displaced Tibetans who had
favoured his holiness Dalai Lama to India. The Centre produces
excellent carpets, woolen good, leather wares, etc. Tea, of course
is Darjeeling’s most famous export and a visit to the Tea Estate
is, no doubt, a very memorable experience. One of the famous
plantation is the Happy Valley Tea Estate, where tea is still
produced by the orthodox method. From here, we drive to the Labong
Race Course, the smallest & the highest Race Course in the World.
Evening you can visit on your own to the Mahakal market famous for
Imported goods from Nepal and a must every evening walk to Chou
rastaa the center of attraction and evening Hangout
Day 3
The most Spectacular sunrise of your life Early morning around
04:00 am leave hotel for the famous Tiger Hills to view sunrise
over Kanchenjunga Peak and other Eastern Himalayan Peaks (subject
to clear weather). Have breakfast at the hotel after returning.
Later, take the famous Toy-Train ride till Batasia Loop (subject
to operational conditions), and then walk upto Ghoom Monastery. It
enshrines a 10 ft. high image of Maitreya Buddha (the Coming
Buddha). From there, drive down to behold the beautiful Rock
Gardens with dancing waterfalls.
Day 4
Today we pack our bags to move further to the new Destination
KALIMPONG. Nestled among the rolling foothills and deep valleys of
the Himalaya- the small bazaar town of Kalimpong is ever bustling
with life. As one drives to Kalimpong down Peshoke Road, suddenly
round the bend, at the view point, an awe inspiring view of the
valley below the confluence of the Rangeet & the Teesta with the
snow-capped mountains above, bursts into sight. The forests are
far richer in this part of the hill. With its rich culture &
religious heritage, overwhelming scenery, and spontaneous
outbursts of greenery – Kalimpong has immense tourist attraction.
En route we have a option for go Wild with Teesta river with White
Water Rafting . Arrive and check into your hotel .
Day 5
Six hrs tour of Kalimpong The tour covers Dr. Graham’s Home
founded in 1900 on the lower slopes of Deolo Hills to have a broad
high view of Kalimpong town & Kanchenjunga massif. In the
afternoon, visit Flower Nurseries Kalimpong being very important
for its gladiolai, catti & orchids, Gouripur House – another very
well known tourist spot as the famous poet Rabindra Nath Tagore
compiled some of his masterpieces here, Durpin Dara Hills from
where one gets a birds; eyeview of the plains, Teesta & Rangeet
rivers, and Jang-Dog-Palrifro-Brang Gompa with its impressive wall
paintings in the prayer room and three dimensional mandala.
Day 6
We move further to Sikkim and the capital city Gangtok .
Arrive Gangtok and check into the Hotel .Rest of the day free for
leisure
Day 7
This is a day excursion to Tshangu Lake (departure in the
morning)- situated at a height of 12,000 ft with an average depth
of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the
scenic beauty around. A small temple is constructed on the lake
side and primulace flowers & Alpine vegetation grow around the
lake.
This will be one of the most memorable day of your Tour
Day 8
Morning after 10 am we proceed on the morning city tour of Gangtok.
The first point is Directorate of Handicrafts & Handlooms where
one can see different kind of a traditional handicrafts &
handlooms. Enchey Monastery is a place worth visiting particularly
during the season when religious dances are performed. Research
Institute of Tibetology is the only organization in the world of
Mahayana Buddhism for advanced studies on Tibetan language. Do-Drul
Chorten has Buddhist importance. Also cover the Orchid Sanctuary
which houses approximately 454 varieties of orchids
Day 9 Today is the end of our North East Tour and the
Chauffeur will drop you to the Airport Bagdogra or NJP station for
your journey back home .
