Day 1 – Sun – Las Vegas Arrival
On arrival into Las Vegas make your own way to your hotel. Your Tour Director will be available at the hotel to assist you with information. Then the evening is entirely at leisure to explore this incredible city! Las Vegas has grown from a railway siding to a city like no other on earth. It is a spectacle of impressive hotels and casinos, with amazing architecture and light displays. Why not try your hand with Lady Luck or stroll along 'the Strip'.

Day 2 – Mon – Las Vegas at Leisure
Today is at leisure so take a break and relax! Lounge by the pool, maybe do some shopping, or take a free lesson in roulette or baccarat? Why not indulge in one of Las Vegas' legendary 'all you can eat' buffets? There's also some terrific optional tours available today which our Tour Director can arrange, perhaps a thrilling helicopter ride from the 'Strip' into the Grand Canyon, or maybe a cabaret and cocktail show at one of the famous dazzling showrooms?

Day 3 – Tue – Las Vegas – Mammoth Lakes (or Fresno*)
One last look at this city where imagination has no boundaries, at least when it comes to hotels and casinos! Then we are off, and on our way to California. We enter the windswept wilderness of the Great Basin Desert, with the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada towering above us. This afternoon we climb to the mountain resort town of Mammoth Lakes.

Day 4 – Wed – Mammoth Lakes (or Fresno*) – San Francisco
Today we cross the spectacular Tioga Pass (summer departures only) and descend into the Yosemite Valley. Our sightseeing here includes natural wonders such as Yosemite Falls (seasonal), Bridalveil Falls (seasonal), Half Dome and El Capitan. As we pass mountain meadows and tumbled granite rocks, there's a chance to see some wildlife. Later we travel to the cosmopolitan city of San Francisco. Tonight why not join an optional tour of Chinatown, complete with a Chinese dinner?

Day 5 – Thu – San Francisco Sightseeing
Today we begin with a tour of the city to see the famous landmarks including the Golden Gate Bridge, Ghiradelli Square and Union Square. We see Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf with famous Pier 39. We also drive up to Twin Peaks viewpoint for spectacular views of the city and the surrounding Bay Area (weather permitting). Then we embark on our tour of Alcatraz Island, formerly a high security federal prison. The ferry trip and the island itself offer great views of the city. During our walking tour of the prison, we enjoy an audio guide which provides narrated accounts of what it was like to live on 'The Rock'.

Day 6 – Fri – San Francisco – Santa Maria
We head south through 'Silicon Valley' on our way to Monterey. Here we enjoy views of Pebble Beach, Lone Cypress and wonderful coastline views as we travel along 17-Mile Drive. We stop in Carmel, where Clint Eastwood once was Mayor. Now there is free time to explore the charming boutiques and galleries featuring local artists' work. From Carmel we continue past lovely valleys and coastal views to Santa Maria.

Day 7 – Sat – Santa Maria – Los Angeles Departure
Today we drive to Los Angeles. After a stop in beautiful Santa Barbara we follow Highway 1, often along the coast, through Malibu before we arrive in the City of Angels. On arrival we visit Hollywood and Beverly Hills, take a quick peek at Grauman's Chinese Theatre and then continue to Los Angeles International Airport for arrival at approximately 4:00 pm (Flights should not be scheduled before 6:30 pm). We also stop in Anaheim at approximately 5:00 pm to drop off passengers wishing to spend a few more days visiting the Disney attractions.
