Day 1 - LONDON - FERRY - PARIS
This
morning, at check-in point you will meet your Tour
Manager and join the coach for a leisurely drive from London
to Dover port, to board the ferry for the short channel
crossing to Calais. Early evening we arrive in Paris and
visit the top floor of the Eiffel Tower
to witness a spectacular panoramic view of the city. Evening
at leisure. (D)
Day 2 -
PARIS
This
morning we meet our expert local guide to visit the famous
sights of Paris. Our tour starts with a visit to the Palace of
Versailles, the former residence of the famous "Sun King".
Later we return to Paris where on the city tour our guide will
introduce us to the main sights: Champs Elysees, Place de
Concorde, Arc De Triomphe, Louvre museum. Finally, enjoy a
romantic dinner cruise on the River Seine, admire the
spectacular facades from your boat and enjoy the entertainment

DAY 3 -
PARIS - LUCERNE AREA
Early
morning we leave the glamour of Paris behind us as we join the
high ways heading towards Switzerland. Late afternoon we cross
the Swiss border and arrive central Switzerland where we check
into our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 4 -
LUCERNE
Driving
through the Swiss alpine region and the winding mountain roads
to the valley of Engelberg, where we start our ascent to board
the world's only revolving cable car reaching the peak of
10,000 feet and the highest viewpoint in central Switzerland.
In the afternoon we begin our descent, passing the glaciers
and thawing ice, which create majestic waterfalls and visit to
the town of Lucerne where you have to shop for superb Swiss
watches and chocolates. Later we join our boat for an evening
cruise on Lake Lucerne and to see the Swiss folklore program
of costumes and dances. (B, L, D)
DAY 5 -
LUCERNE - FLORENCE
Driving
south along the scenic alpine route we drive through the
Gotthard tunnel, an engineering feat of over 16 kilometers.
Later we pass the impressive Italian lakes Lugano and Como and
old Italian towns perched high on the hills. Passing the
outskirts of Milan the financial capital, we arrive at the
former capital of Tuscany now famed for it's incredible
architecture. Marvel at one of the wonders of the world, the
legendary Leaning Tower and also the Square of Miracles. From
Pisa just a little further onto Florence, visit Piazzale
Micheangelo, to enjoy one of the best views of this great
Renaissance city across the River Arno. (B, C/D)
DAY 6 -
FLORENCE - ROME
Meet our
local guide for a walking tour of the old city.
We visit the Santa Croce, the Bell Tower and other historic
sights. Driving south on the Autostrada del Sole through the
Italian provinces of Tuscany and Umbria, we pass through the
amazing scenery, and sunlit valleys of the Chianti wine
country and ancient fortresses perched high on the hills to
reach the 'Eternal City'. Late evening we check into our first
class hotel. (B, D)
DAY 7 -
ROME - NAPLES - CAPRI - ROME
Driving
south down the Italian peninsula we arrive at Naples where we
board the jet foil to the breath-taking isle. On Capri, the
island of the jet set, you have time to explore the intricate
mazes of streets and the fashionable boutiques. Late afternoon
we begin our return journey passing Mount Vesuvius - Europe's
greatest live volcano. Return to hotel late evening. (B, D)
DAY 8 -
ROME - VENICE
We meet
our expert local guide who will show us the splendors of the
Vatican and St. Peters a renaissance masterpiece.
In the afternoon we take in other ancient sights - the
Coliseum, the Roman Forum which was the political center of
the Roman Empire. Early afternoon we leave the 'Eternal City'
and journey north through the amazing scenery of the
Appennines, passing endless vineyards and luscious Olive
groves. Late evening we arrive Venice area and check into our
hotel. (B, C/D)
DAY 9 -
VENICE - INNSBRUCK
Today we
visit one of the most romantic cities of the world. Your tour
starts with a boat ride on a Vaporetto to visit the most
elegant square in the world, Marks Square. Leaving Venice, we
pass the rugged limestone Dolomites and breathtaking panoramic
scenery, to wind up to the Austrian border and the Brenner
Pass. Crossing Europe's highest bridge, we arrive in the
capital of the Tyrol and check into hotel. Evening at leisure
to stroll along the lively Maria Theresien Strasse and relive
the city's Imperial Past. (B, D)
DAY 10 -
INNSBRUCK - JENBACH - SALZBURG
We start
this morning with a short
drive to
Jenbach for an exciting journey by steam train
to Achensee to admire the breathtaking scenery of the
mountains and lakes of the Tyrol region. We then continue our
journey to Salzburg the birthplace of the famous composer
Mozart, for a panoramic tour. Early evening we return to
Innsbruck. (B, D)
DAY 11 -
INNSBRUCK - VADUZ - ZURICH
Early
morning we depart for Switzerland.. Continuing our journey we
pass the spectacular Austrian alpine region and drive through
the Arlberg Tunnel. On route we enter the small principality
of Liechtenstein and visit Vaduz. Early evening we check into
our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 12 -
INTERLAKEN - JUNGFRAU
We first
drive to the town of Interlaken where we start our ascent to
visit Trummelbach falls. Later board the train for the scenic
journey to the top of Europe - Jungfrau and the highest
railway station in Europe. In the afternoon we begin our
descent passing small idyllic mountain top villages. Late
evening return to our hotel. (B, L, D)
DAY 13 -
ZURICH - MANNHEIM
Depart
this morning for Germany. We first stop at Schaffhausen to
visit the majestic Rhine Falls. After crossing the border, we
enter into the enchanting Black Forest region, where you will
marvel at the timeless serenity and unparalleled scenery
around you. We pass through small idyllic villages before
stopping at scenic Lake Titisee where you have time to admire
the scenery. Later we check into our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 14 -
MANNHEIM - BRUSSELS
Joining
the Autobahn, we drive into the Rhine valley and board a
cruise ship for
an
unforgettable trip along the River Rhine.
Admire the majestic views, mountain top fairy tale castles and
fortresses of a bygone era. Early afternoon we arrive at the
famous city of Cologne where you can marvel Europe's largest
Gothic twin spire cathedral. After lunch we proceed onto
Belgium and to the capital of the European Parliament. We
first visit the Atomium, built for the 1958 World Exhibition.
Later check into our hotel.

DAY 15 -
BRUSSELS - AMSTERDAM - BRUSSELS
Our
first stop this morning is the
Madurodam Model Village (or Keukenhoff garden
for arrivals into Holland between March 21st and May 20th) to
see miniature Holland. Later we drive north through the flat
landscape of Holland passing windmills from a bygone era, to
Amsterdam for a canal cruise through the city's complex system
of waterways and to visit a diamond house. Late evening return
to our hotel. (B, D)
DAY 16 -
BRUSSELS - BRUGGE - CALAIS - FERRY - LONDON
On the
panoramic tour, see the Royal Palace, European parliament, the
Mannekin Pis statue and the Grand Place where you have time to
shop for Belgium chocolates and souvenirs. Continue onto the
medieval city of Bruges, often described as the "Venice of the
north". Early afternoon we depart and journey north for Calais
to board the ferry for the return channel crossing. On arrival
at Dover we board our local coach and arrive London late
evening where the tour ends and time to say farewell to all
the friends you have made on tour. (B)
