Day 1 –
London – Amsterdam
We meet
our Tour Director this morning at the Hilton Olympia, then
leave for Europe. We cross the channel and continue through
Belgium's Flanders Fields into Holland and onto Amsterdam.
Here we see the Royal Palace and Dam Square. We also enjoy a
visit to a diamond-polishing factory before reaching our hotel
in the Dutch countryside.
Day 2 –
Amsterdam – Rhineland
This
morning to Germany to visit Cologne and see its Gothic
Cathedral. Past Bonn, we follow the Rhine to join our
highlight river cruise before arriving at our hotel. (B,D)
Day 3 –
Rhineland – Innsbruck
We stop
this morning in Heidelberg where we view the castle. Then to
Bavaria and its capital, Munich, where we see the Hofbrauhaus,
the Marienplatz and the Olympic complex. Finally we continue
to picturesque Innsbruck. (B,D)
Day 4 –
Innsbruck – Veneto
This
morning's sightseeing includes the Golden Roof and the ornate
Wilten Basilica. Then the spectacular Brenner Pass takes us
over the Alps to Italy and the Veneto region. (B)
Day 5 –
Venice Sightseeing
We drive
to the Venetian Lagoon where our private launch takes us to
St. Mark's Square. We see the Doges'' Palace, the Bridge of
Sighs and a master create a work of art in glass. Later,
perhaps enjoy a scenic lagoon cruise with lunch? (B,D)
Day 6 –
Veneto – Engelberg
First
stop today is at Verona, where we see Juliet's balcony and the
Roman arena. Then through the Italian Lake District to the
Swiss Alps with its snow-covered mountain peaks, waterfalls
and flower-bedecked chalets. (B)
Day 7 –
Lucerne Sightseeing
Sightseeing in Lucerne today includes the Chapel Bridge and
the emotive Lion Monument. Then time to relax, shop or join an
excursion to a nearby mountain for stunning views? (B,D)
Day 8 –
Engelberg – Paris
We cross
the French border, continuing through the wine producing area
of Burgundy and the hills of France until we reach the
glittering capital, Paris. (B)
Day 9 –
Paris Sightseeing
The
Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Champs Elysees,
Place de la Concorde and Opera House – we show you these
sights on our included sightseeing tour. Tonight, maybe enjoy
a Parisian cabaret! (B)
Day 10 –
Paris – London
Leaving
Paris this morning, we pass poignant reminders of World War I
battles and cross the River Somme en route to London, where
our tour ends. (B)
