Day 1
On arrival at Kochi International Airport you will be taken to Munnar, an enchanting hill station situated 1,600 metres above sea level, to check into the Tea County Hill Resort.
Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel you will be taken on a sightseeing tour around Munnar where tea gardens, picturesque colonial towns and meandering mountain streams present photo opportunities galore. In the afternoon you can do as you wish.You could take a boat ride on Mattupetty lake or go on a scenic tour to Topstation or Rajamala where you can watch the Nilgiri Tahr (rare mountain goats) in their natural habitat.
Day 3
In the morning you will be transferred to Kumarakom to check into your resort. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing on the beach or enjoying a soothing massage (optional) before meeting up with the rest of your group to watch the resort's nightly cultural show.
Day 4
Take advantage of your morning at leisure to pay a visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. If you are fortunate enough to visit in winter you may catch sight of a flock or two of migratory birds from Siberia flying in to roost. In the afternoon join a boat cruise along the backwaters and try your hand at backwater fishing before returning to the resort for a good night's rest.
Day 5
After breakfast you will be transferred to Kochi, Kerala's commercial capital, where you will check in to the Taj Malabar Hotel. After settling in, you will be taken on a tour of the city. During your fascinating afternoon excursion you will visit the Mattanchery Dutch Palace*, St. Francis Church (India's oldest European church) and the Chinese fishing nets, stirring reminders of China's influence along the coast in times gone by. Afterwards you will be returned to your hotel to spend the evening as you please. Overnight at the hotel.
*Please note that the Mattanchery Dutch Palace is closed on Fridays and Public Holidays.
Day 6
Transfer to Kochi International Airport for your onward flight.
