the Slave Dynasty; and the lotus-shaped Baha’i Temple. |

marble memorial built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant II in 1899.
The Umaid Bhawan is a majestic building that presently functions
as a hotel and museum. The Mandore Gardens, situated about 8 km
from Jodhpur, has cenotaphs of the Jodhpur rulers. The Government
Museum and Zoo are located in the pleasant Umaid Gardens.

architecture. Not far away is the Central Museum. Jantar Mantar,
is the largest of the five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh.
The Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds was constructed for the
royal ladies to watch the royal processions without being seen. |
