Day 1
London Amsterdam
We meet
our Tour Director this morning at the Hilton Olympia, then
we're off to Dover for our cruise to France. Belgium's
Flanders Fields lead to Holland and the canals and bridges
which make Amsterdam the 'Venice of the North'. Our
orientation tour of this exciting city shows us Dam Square and
the Mint Tower. Then we visit a diamond-polishing factory
before continuing to our hotel.
Day 2
Amsterdam Rhineland
This
morning we enter Germany to visit Cologne and view its Gothic
cathedral. Then a memorable Rhine cruise takes us past
castles, half timbered houses and vineyards. We see the
legendary Loreley Rock and admire Pfalz Castle sitting in the
middle of the river on the way to our hotel. (B,D)
Day 3
Rhineland Innsbruck
This
morning, we drive south to the Bavarian Alps for views of
'Mad' King Ludwig's fairytale castle of Neuschwanstein. We
then travel over the Austrian border to Innsbruck, where our
sightseeing includes the Rococo Wilten Basilica, the
impressive Golden Roof and Imperial Palace. Tonight, perhaps
enjoy a lively Austrian folklore show? (B,D)
Day 4
Innsbruck Lucerne
We
travel through spectacular Alpine scenery as we leave the
Austrian Alps for a stop in the capital of the small
principality of Liechtenstein, dominated by Vaduz Castle. Then
along the Walensee Lake to Lucerne where we see the covered
Chapel Bridge and the stirring Lion Monument. Then we have
time at leisure to shop for that special Swiss timepiece or
local chocolate, before reaching our hotel. (B,D)
Day 5
Lucerne Paris
This
morning we drive past the Swiss port of Basel into France,
skirting the Jura Mountains, we continue into the wine
producing area of Burgundy. Then it's on to Paris where we
will stay for two nights. This evening, why not join a
fabulous excursion to see the city's illuminations? (B)
Day 6
Paris Sightseeing
With a
local guide this morning we see Garnier's Opera House,
Napoleon's Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, the Eiffel
Tower and we visit Notre Dame Cathedral. Then time at leisure
to explore the Louvre or shop for Paris fashions. Tonight,
don't miss the nightlife perhaps enjoy a lively cabaret or a
typical Parisian bistro? (B)
Day 7
Paris London
Today we
travel through the land in which the great battles of the
First World War took place, before reaching Calais. We sail
across the channel to Dover, and continue through the Kent
countryside to London where our tour comes to an end. (B)
