Arrive Paro by Air Flight During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mt. Jichu Drake in Bhutan. Arrival at Paro International Airport. Then drive to Olathang Hotel through Paro valley, an enchanting experience. Overnight at Olathang Hotel.

 

 

 


Paro - Sightseeing. Drive northwest up the Pa Chu to Drugyel Dzong built in 1647 by Shabdung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate his victory over Tibetans in 1644. From here the sacred Mt. Jumolhari 7314 meters can be viewed on clear days. Drive back to Satsamchorten, and from there on riding mule & horses or on foot, hike up to Taktsang which clings to a black rock, overhanging the valley below 800 meters. Legend says that Guru Rimpoche come to Taktsang in a miraculous manner, flying on the back of a tigress from Khenpajong in the region of Kurtoe. The tigress was a form taken by one of the master's consorts for the occasion. After lunch at the cafeteria, walk down to the motor road and drive to see Ta Dzong, National Museum, with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiques. Overnight stay at Olathang hotel or in camp.

 

 

 


Paro - Thimphu. This morning follow the winding road beside the Pa Chu (Chu means river or water) down stream to its confluence with the Wangchu, then up valley to Thimphu, the capital. Afternoon lunch at the Hotel. After lunch visit the Memorial Chorten, here the faithful circumambulate the shrine dedicated to the Late King saying their prayer beads as they walk. Overnight at the Hotel.

 

 

 


Thimphu - Khuruthang. Drive to Khuruthang with pack lunch, which will be provided at the Hotel. Stop at Dochula pass if the weather is clear to get a view of the snow capped Himalayan mountains. Lunch at the camp and then drive to Punakha Dzong. Visit the Dzong if the Monks are in Thimphu.

 

 

 


Khuruthang - Limukha. Drive till Punakha Dzong. The trek begins with the gradual climb through Chir-pine forest. A stop to visit the village of Dompala can be organized depending on the group's choice. Distance 5/6 hours. Overnight in camp.

 

 

 


Limukha - Chungsakha. The trail today takes you through Rhododendron and Oak forested areas. Enroute pass a famous Drukpa Kuenley Lhakhang. Overnight in camp. Distance - 14 kms about 5/6 hours.

 

 

 


Chungsakha - Samtengang. The trail now takes you through the village of Sha Wangdi district. Camp at Samtengang at the lakeside. Distance 13 Kms about 5 hours.

 

 

 


Samtengang - Wangdi / Thimphu. The trail now drops down till the motor road. Drive till Wangdiphodrang and lunch at the tourist lodge. Then continue to drive to Thimphu Overnight at the Hotel.

 

 

 


Thimphu - Sightseeing. A day full of sightseeing and shopping in Thimphu. Wander in the town, visit the handicrafts emporium. Visit the workshop where all the crafts are produced if you like. Afternoon visit the Tashichho-Dzong. Then drive out for Motithang Hotel, take a walk up the hill behind the Hotel and visit the Takin penned up there. Overnight at the hotel.

 

 

 


Thimphu - Punakha- Thimphu. Early morning drive over the 10,000-ft pass of Dochula to view the stunning scenery of the Himalayan ranges; descend to the old winter capital of Punakha, visit Wangdiphodrang Valley and evening to Thimphu. Overnight at hotel.

 

 

 


Thimphu - Paro Airport. Drive to international Airport at Paro for onward flight.
