The Khatling glacier is a lateral glacier, at the source of River Bhilangana. According to legends a celestial nymph tried to lure Lord Shiva, while the almighty was at meditation. She was spurned by him and was dissolved into liquid form, thus originating the Bhilangana. Nature has bestowed her bounty on the vales of Bhilangana in abundance and the rich pasturelands are ideal camping sites.
 

Drive upto Ghuttu(1,524 M) from Dehradun - 188 km. (10 hrs drive)

Ghuttu {1,524 M} - Reeh (2,133 M). Leave Ghuttu after early breakfast with packed lunch. Steep climb of 10 km. Dinner and overnight in tent colony.

Reeh (2,132 M) - (2,589 M). Very steep climb. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Gangi (2589 M) Pachari (2896 M) --15 km. Gangi-Kalyani (2,683 M.5km)- Biroda {2,744 M.2 km). Kharsali (2,896 M, 7.5. km)- Pachari (2,896 M.0.5 km)

Pachari (2,896 M)-Khatling (3,717 M) -- 10 km. Steep and strenuous trek. On the way one can trek to Tamakund (3415 M) from where Khatling Glacier is 3 km. Overnight in caves. Pachari Naumuthi (2,957 M, 1.5 km) Bhelbagi {3,110 M, 5 km}-Bhumka (3,201 M.1 km) Tamakund (3,415 M) 3 km - Khatling Glacier (3,717 M. 3 km)

Around Khatling Glacier. Trek along and around the Glacier to the magnificent Hanging Glacier of Ratangian, Jogin and Phating etc. Overnight in caves at Khatling Glacier.

Khatling to Panchari -- 10 km.

Pachari to Gangi -- 15 km

Gangi to Reeh -- 10 km

Reeh to Ghuttu -- 10 km

Ghuttu to Dehradun {drive} --188 km
