Adi Kailash also known as Chhota Kailash is an area of great natural beauty, peace and serenity. During this trek one gets an opportunity to view the snow peaks of Annapurna, thick forests, waterfalls and wild flowers.

New Delhi - Champawat …452 km
The tourist coach will leave in the morning at 8:00 hours, from the U.P. Tourist Office, 36, Chandralok Building, Janpath, New Delhi, Overnight at Champawat.

 

 

 


Champawat - Dharchula (6151 meters)..171 km
A hill journey through Lohagat, on the bank of Saryu river, Gurna and Pithoragarh. Lunch at Pithoragarh. In the afternoon passing through Kanalichhina, Olga, Ashkot, Jauljibi and Dharchula, a beautiful village located in the right bank of Kali river. Overnight stay at Dharchula.

 

 

 


Dharchula - Tawaghat (914 metres)…19 km
Tawaghat - Pangu (2250 metres) ..9 km
The last bus-head on way to the Kailash yatra. Trekking starts from Tawaghat. Coolie arrangements are available. Crossing the wooden bridge at Tawaghat over roaring, foaming, and jumping Dhauliganga the steep and winding climb starts upto Thani - Dhar (1920 meters). A small tea shop an drinking water is available at this place. A fine view of Khela and surrounding is seen from this place. On a gradual ascent to the first halt and the first Bhotiya village of Pangu on this route, Post and Telegraph Office, school an stay arrangements are available. Overnight halt at Pangu.

 

 

 


Pangu - Sirkha (2440 meters)…8 km
From Pangu about 2 kms on the descent is Juyntigad. Again a steep asent starts to Sosa village (2440 metres). The gradual climb is upto Tithaldhura or Tihalakot. Dharma Dvara a bell dedicated to a goddess, piles of stones and flags, and a good camping ground. From this place the road descends to Sirkha. There is a beautiful P.W.D. Inspection House. A small Bhotiya village. Few shops and Panchayat Ghar. Overnight halt at Sirkha.

 

 

 


Sirkha - Jipti (2378 meters)…16 km
From Sirkha about 2 km the road descends to Samuri or Samre (2316 metres). A few shops are available. From Samuri a steep stony ascent through thick forest to Rungling or Sumariya - Dhar (3048 meters) starts. On the top is a heap of stones with flags. Thereafter is a steep descent through a thick forest to the stream Simkhola - gad. From Simkhola is gentle up the village Galla, Bindakoti and the destination Jipti. A P.W.D.I.H. is located on the top of a ridge with very little accommodation and camping space. Kali river which is missing from Tawaghat, appears here again flowing several hundred feet down in a gorge. Overnight halt at Jipti.

 

 

 


Jipti - Malpa (2018 metres)..9 km
From Jipti the difficult part of the whole journey starts upto Garbyang. Very steep descent upto the bank of Kali river is thrilling. Going along the side of kaali near a spot, Chhatta is adifficult trek. Further up a beautiful najang waterfall about 100 feet high comes and the climb starts upto the Bola pass. Again a steep descent upto Malpa is quite tiring. There are a few shops, one P.W.D.I.H. on the bank of Kali river. Here Kali river flows like a reptile through the rocky gorge.

 

 

 


Malpa - Budhi (2740 metres)….8 km
From Malpa again the steep ascent passes through two big fans of waterfalls falling like shower - baths on to the road from a height of three to four hundred feet. The path is very slippery here. On the way is a halting place, Lamare where one can get a cup of tea torefresh oneself. After covering a steep ascent, the village Budhi is seen from the top of the hill. Nearby a P.W.D.I.H. is located at a beautiful site with a heavy rocky mountain hanging over. Overnight halt at Budhi.
