Destination Covered : Melbourne, Great Ocean Rd and Adelaide
Day 1: (MD, Motel)
We fly to Melbourne where will be spending the next 4 nights. We travel to St Kilda and settle into our city hotel.
Day 2:(CB, MD, Motel)
We conduct a thorough tour of the city centre, St KIlda, South Bank and Carlton. Later we have an optional tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground and National Sports Museum OR the Melbourne Imigration Museum covering hundreds of years of people coming to Australia. In the afternoon we visit the Eureka Skydeck for an awe inspiring view of Melbourne from the Southern Hemisphere's highest viewing platforms. (N.B. MCG tour, Imigration Museum and Skydeck Included in your fare.)
Day 3: (CB, RD, Motel)
From Melbourne we head down the Nepean Highway and onto the Mornington Peninsula to Sorrento. From here we board a ferry across the mouth of Port Phillip Bay to Queenscliff. In the afternoon we explore Geelong and return to Melbourne after skirting around the Bay. This evening we dine on the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant while experiencing the sounds and smells of the streets of Melbourne.
Day 4: (CB, MD Motel)
A free day to experience what ever you fancy in Melbourne; shopping, arts, history, meeting family and friends or relaxation.
Day 5: (CB, MD Motel)
Recognised as one of the world's most scenic drives, the Great Ocean Road follows the stunning coastline of Victoria's south-west. Stretching 243 kilometers from Torquay to Allansford, the road winds along cliff tops, up to breathtaking headlands, down onto the edge of beaches, across river estuaries and through lush rainforests offering panoramic views of Bass Strait and the Southern Ocean at every turn. Overnight in Warrnambool.
Day 6: (CB, MD Motel)
Onto Mt Gambier; its volcanic Blue Lake is very interesting. then along the edge of The Coorong, home to massive flocks of birds that have travelled here from as far away as Siberia and Alaska. From here we move onto Adelaide.
Day 7 (FB, RD Motel)
We spend the whole day in the City of Adelaide. With options to vist the South Australian Museum, Art Gallery and Zoo. Not to forget the Rundle St Mall. We have dinner at the Adelaide Casino. N.B. Entry to Museum and Art Gallery free and Entry to Zoo Included.
Day 8: (FB, MD Motel)
Down to Victor Harbour where we take the Historic Old Horse Tram to the Granite Island Recreation & Nature Park. Next to Goolwa at the Mouth of the Murray Darling River System. In the afternoon onto Mannum for a cruise on the Murray River before heading back to Adelaide. NB. Tram and Boat Crusie Included.
Day 9: (FB)
Firstly this morning we visit the RW Williams Heritage Museum on the site of the company's original factory/workshop in Prospect. Featuring not only the history of its founder, also traces the legend of the Australian stockman and the company. Then into the beautiful Barossa Valley and the delightful towns of Tanunda, Angaston & Nurioopta. We visit the Angas Park Dried Fruit Company. Later we fly home.
